Control-M Hot Backup
1. No need to stop Control-M services.
2. Can be automated using DbuHotBackup utilities and can be scheduled from Control-M.
3. Requires Archiving to be on
4. Archiving requires additional storage to store files
5. Need to manage archiving files by deleting the older files once hot backup is taken
6. Slower than Cold Backup
Control-M Cold Backup
1. Control-M services to be stopped in order to take cold backup
2. Can't be automated using DbuHotBackup utilities. More like a manual task.
3. Archiving should be off in order to take Cold Backup
4. Way faster than Hot Backup
